My 1/2 ton Nissan Titan tows my 6500 lb trailer just fine.. I never go in overdrive and shift down when I see a hill up ahead. If it's a really long hill, I'll go in the slow lane, shift to 2nd and follow the slow big rigs. Took the family from OR to NYC and back last summer and it pulled like a champ.
