Snowed in, ready for Spring!!

My new truck

2014 1500 Silverado. It'll be my grocery getter and travel vehicle.

Old truck, camper all snuggled under pole building.

Enough of this white crap. I don't see how ya'll deal with it in the deep North. :E

Oh yeah? Well we got six inches of sun today, here in Florida, that we had to shovel. So there. :B:B:B

Have a condo just North of you in ft. Myers. Tenant snowbirds are currently residing in it as we are still years from retirement. Wish I was down there...

Don't worry our commander and chief is in Fresno today to fix the drought problem :S

  • Northern ill. We are a touch over 5 feet, top 3 winters for low temp. Next week they are saying we could hit 50, that will get the camping thoughts racing. Infact this afternoon the WF and I are headed to Rosemont for the RV show. Should be a lot of fun, stay warm spring is coming.
  • We are right in the middle of your storm this morning. So far it looks like over a foot and more coming down. I'll head out tomorrow and clean up four neighborhood driveways (all are retired folks who do not need/want to drive on the bad roads) The forecast is for another 6-8" for Saturday night into Sunday so the ground will be white for a while longer. The advantage of living in the north where we get a lot of snow is that they are prepared and know how to handle it. A two foot storm and the roads are easily passable withing literally hours after it is over and life gets back to normal. Ice, well, that is another story! As Hedge said we too miss out on earthquakes, tornadoes, major flooding and all but the tail end of hurricanes. The winters are long BUT the summers are much more bearable than the high humidity and 90*+ temps. I'll take the snow anytime!!!

  • We have only had 10in or so total snow this year and 3 rounds of ice, but this extreme cold is starting to get to me.

I really need a long warm camping trip.
  • Our Southwind is snowed in, we got 12 inches yesterday.
    And, more on the way.

Pennsylvania is bad enough, I don't know how the people in the north deal with it, where it really snows and gets cold. :E
  • sometimes I'm not sure how we deal with it either, but oddly enough I sure think I'd miss it if I moved somewhere else. Just have to find some winter activities you like. I go atv'ing and I'm going camping to Banff this weekend.

I guess we get to miss out on most of the other weather issues, such as hurricanes, earthquakes and for the most part tornadoes.
  • Well around here the sun is out and it is suppose to be a warm day. One of the benefits of living in the north :-)
