There are all the naysayers who always say you need a 1T dually to tow anything, then you have folks like me who routinely tow 10K with a Chevrolet 1500, here in the western mountains. Yes you can get the 3.73 but you need to order the NHT package to get it. With the NHT package, your trailer weight is upped to 12K, just make sure you get the model with 2K± carry capacity. If the latest and greatest don't have what you want, I know for a fact that 2011 & 2012 GM twins have the NHT and it comes with the 6.2L engine and the 3.73 rear, so think gently used for a TV. BTW, I am getting 20+ mpg with 1K in the bed, on the highway at 55-60mph.
