Happy to hear you got the situation handled. Fiberglass can be repaired very nicely - I've seen it done and the results are pretty amazing. As most of us, you likely take pride in your rig and deserve to have a top notch repair. One thing is a definite - you don't want the elements like rain, snow, critters, etc. to get in there and shorten the life of your rig.
It's surprising to see the wide range of reactions to the event and suggestions on how to handle it. Personally, I tend to stay calm and not overreact, but fully expect people to do the right thing. If someone damaged my property, they should cough up the dough to fix it, whether they're 2 or 102. And that rule applies to me too! If they have trouble meeting their responsibilities, there are established systems in place to make sure they do so.
In the end, it's only a material possession, but we've all worked hard for them and want to keep the rigs in good condition. If we don't, the useful life and reliability will be undermined.
