Only in the thinkin stage so far. DW says go for it. My TV is 13 years old, and in really good shape. 77k. But is getting old. So found a 2013 F150 SuperCab with the 5.0, AND 3.73 rears with 37000...

In the newer 6 and 8 speed transmissions that low axle ratio isn't as important as it used to be.
Ford engineers would differ with you as Ford rates the 3.73 to have a higher tow capacity than they do the 3.55, 3.31, and they don't even give a tow rating for the 3.15 with the 5.0.
However it is true that the 3.5 EcoBoost has the highest tow rating of any of the engines, But it only gets it with the 3.73, and the 4.10 rear.
At any rate. The 5.0 with the 3.73 has much more towing capacity than I need for my 30' 6000lb TT. Plus the 5.0 is less expensive than the EcoBoost. And to be brutally honest. I love the sound of a open exhaust V8. No other sound like that. There will be a Magnaflow in the trucks near future if I get it.
BTW. For some reason. Weather it has a built in Brake controller, or not, doesn't seem to matter as to the GVWR, or towing capacity. Neither does it matter if it has the tow mirrors or not
