I like solar but also carry a Westinghouse Inverter...very rarely used. Solar system should have at least 1 solar watt per battery AH. But when you buy a solar controller buy bigger than you think you need so that you can add panels. Most solar systems and batteries won't run AC, many will have trouble running the microwave for anything but the shortest time but everything else (including TVs, radio and fans) can be used via batteries charged by solar. If you camp next to me I'll be charging my batteries from sun up to sun down...and you won't hear anything...hint, hint.
