There is no helping some people. I have told people things that I have learned after years of trial and error and they do the opposite, but then I also learned by trial and error.
If he insists I would maybe add to the bill of sale a little note that says "buyer is responsible for purchasing and installing the proper tie downs and connectors for the camper that fits their truck and you take no responsibility for loading or securing the camper to his truck".
