Payload is how much additional weight can you load on the truck where max towing is how much you can pull. The payload on the avg 250 is around 1700pds. This means with the weight of yourself, another occupants, full tank a gas, supplies you take in the truck and the pin weight of the trailer, cannot exceed 1700 pds. You can find the 250 with more I am just tossing put a common avg.
A toy hauler 5th wheel will put 20% the total weight of the trailer on your truck. A 10k 5th wheel will put about 2000pds of weight onto the truck and is over your payload. The 350 upgraded springs usually add about 1000pds to the payload.
