Our Families travel trailer was stolen over the Thanksgiving holiday in Fernandina Beach, Florida. It was stored at a friends business and had a tongue lock attached. To the Grinch that took it please know this camper meant a lot to our family. Our daughter is heartbroken because she loved it so much. My wife and I are distraught because it will be a real financial hardship to be able to replace it and it's contents. We had saved for a long time to buy it and all the equipment we bought for it over time. The Grinch took it all, even the tire covers and wheel chocks. Please keep an eye out for it, we would appreciate it. It is a 23 foot 2006 Rockwood 2306. It had a spare tire with molded plastic cover mounted on the rear bumper and was in excellent shape. One distinguishing interior feature was that it had 2 bunks in the back originally, but I removed the top bunk to accommodate my growing daughter It had a current Florida Tag on it N230DM

Look for it on Craigslist in a nearby state. Hope that you had good insurance on it. You can buy a tracking device. It basically uses a cell phone chip in it, and has GPS tracking. You buy a monthly phone at Wal Mart or someplace, and pay by the minute plan, not a monthly rental. Then put the chip from that phone into the tracker. If you decide to track the car or whatever the device is put into, you call the "Phone number" and it activates it's GPS, telling you exactly where it is located. It also works on computers. I-Pads can tell you where they are located within about 75 feet. Close enough that law enforcement can obtain a search warrant if required to get your stuff back. Fred.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Hopefully you can find something to focus on, so it doesn't totally ruin your Christmas holiday. On the bright side, no one got hurt....

Thanks to a great community of rv'ers for your words of encouragement. You are a community of good people who understand the enjoyment of rv'ing and the enjoy gained from making new friends and family memories. I'd like to say will be camping again sometime and more wiser from the experience. It's ironic how so many of us RV'ers will leave things around our campsites and not think much about it. RV'ers usually have each others back and look after one another's camp sites. It's to bad once we leave the campsite and go back home that you have to guard your stuff with extra care because someone wants to take it from you. RV'ers in general have respect for each others rigs and equipment. It's to too bad there's a few bad apples out their who don't understand that respect.

I feel really bad for you, especially since you scrimped and saved for this TT, and probably can't get all of the investment back.

It takes a very brazen person(s) to steal something as big as an RV.

I have a tongue hitch lock but I'm sure it would be of little deterrance. Hopfeully, the bigger deterrance is that I keep it parked right next to my house, which is only 10' from my neighbor's house, and one of our other vehicles is usually parked in front of it in the driveway.

I hope somehow you are able to get back to camping sometime soon.

Also, it is somewhat of a lesson learned to the rest of us to not store a lot of personal gear of any value in our TTs.

Really sorry to hear of your loss. Just two days ago my shop was broke into and the crooks got away with a brand new 32" TV that was for one of my grandkids Christmas present. Stealing is all around us these days, it's the world we live in which is a broken one. Do hope your trailer is found.

That is terrible and really frustrating I am sure. Karma will catch up to who ever took your TT and make their life a bit more miserable I hope.

In CA there were people who removed all 4 tires. It sounds like a PITA to do but there trailer was always there.

Right. If you just remove two wheels from one side they'll just take one off from the other side and put it back on and tow it with two wheels. They're only going to pull it once and then it will probably be a meth lab. You won't want it back. Hope the insurance comes through. Most RV policies have pretty good coverage for the contents too.

I read once on here someone removing one of their tires. Not sure if that is a good idea. Generally even with a tracking device like a car you really don't want it back if they find it.

Golden_HVAC, A tracking device sounds like a good idea... Are you talking about a Lo Jack? or just getting a cheap smart phone from walmart, hiding it in the trailer then calling it if its stolen?....please explain more, Thanks
