In CA, those campgrounds have gone to using outside vendors for management. After Labor Day, many of them lock the gate for the season. It is very irritating.


True everywhere, I think. Used to be at the end of the season, they (real BLM, NF, or NPS employees) bagged the pay drop posts, put up signs reminding folks to "pack it out", and went home. Off season camping was quiet and no charge.
