We have the BAL deluxe locking chocks, a precursor to the X-chocks from BAL. Nearly a decade of heavy use and they are still as functional as the day they were purchased. Properly set they will help stabilize TT and significantly reduce fore and aft movement in addition to their primary purpose of chocking your tandem axle TT.
We also use the plastic chocks when our site is on a steep slope. For mostly level sites, the BAL chocks installed on both sides of the rig will keep our 32' TT in place for hitching/unhitching. After tires have cooled down the BAL chocks may require half a crank or so to retighten their grip although we find it to be a rare occurrence for us.
The BAL chocks are somewhat of an expensive option as chocks go, it is important to get 2 for maximum effectiveness. As I mentioned above, ours have been extremely durable and worth every penny we laid out initially on their purchase. When deployed with our BAL scissor and stab stabilizing jacks, our nearly 10K# TT feels solid and steady.
