Yes, I did read past post.My GF and I picked up our brand new 2014 Apex TT yesterday. Getting ready for a trip to Fl. The tires are filled with Nitrogen. There is a nice little booklet touting the great things Nitrogen does, they even use N in B2 Bombers.Unless someone can tell me why I should, I have no intention of hauling my TT to a tire place to put in N. Makes no sense to me. My real questions are : 1- will it hurt to just top off my tires with my portable compressor? 2- if I have a flat on one tire and put " regular " air in it will it matter ( with the others having N )?PS: Next B2 bomber I get I WILL get Nitrogen in its tires.

No, it will not matter enough to bother chasing down nitrogen refills or top ups.

Agreed. But, go to a place that uses air tools and will have an air dryer that removes moisture. Those cheap coin op ones do not.

I use the 78% Nitrogen stuff in mine. No worries.

If your TT weighs as much as the bomber and falls from the sky that fast I would worry. Air has worked well in a lot of tires over the years.

Helium works much better than nitrogen. When are they going to start filling tires with helium as a fuel saving measure? N2 and Air are OK but not worth a hoot when tire bead is broken.

That is where propane shines!

Spray a little around the rim and throw a lighted match at it

Whoop.....tire is seated and inflated all in one quick motion

Never heard of anyone bombing anyone with a travel trailer. 78% nitrogen is free almost everywhere you go and it's worked flawlessly for me for well over 100,000 towing miles.

One reason NASCAR uses compressed nitrogen vs compressed air is a safety factor. Compressed air contains enough oxygen to be a combustion accelerator. Not good in a NASCAR pit.

You might be able to put out a small fire with a blast of compressed pure nitrogen.

Compressed air is actually classified as a hazardous material by DOT---as an oxidizer, hazard class 5.1.
