Yeah it had a 5.7 my mistake eyes aren't what they used to be.
("Cadillac to Pontiac"...sounds more like an "uninformed", not real experience) Oh really "Flawed" you say I am not "loyal" to any manufacturer I just related my own experience with the one Ram VS Chevy's that I have owned. The RAM couldn't even come close in ride, handling, quality of the interior and performance.
One must be awful hard on trucks to have a PILE of them in just 39 years....just my biased opinion...
Nope, not real hard on them, just have had decent, good paying jobs where I could trade about every 2 or 3 years...I have no clue about OLDER Ram trucks...I do have a clue about NEWER/NEW Ram and Chevy trucks...not trucks that are over 10 years old...I'm talking trucks, Chevy and Ram since 2010....Never ever wanted a Dodge truck, too big of a Chevy fan and didn't like how loud the old Dodge trucks were, (it is what it is:))...BUT, the NEW 2010 and up compete very well with GM and Ford....so the Cadillac to Pontiac comparison is a bit silly unless, as you stated, you're comparing 14 yr. old trucks......Try out a 2014 Ram in an apples to apples comparison,....though some Pontiacs REALLY rode as smoothly as a Caddy, and I'd taken a Pontiac GTO JUDGE in a heartbeat over a Caddy:). (both vehicles made by GM...just more "bling" with the Caddy).
I too compared, at the time, ONE RAM I owned against the last 3 Chevy D/A LTZ trucks I owned and the Ram looked better, inside and out, drove just as smoothly, handles just as well as a Chevy and matched up nicely with the Chevy,,,,,if it hadn't, I wouldn't be driving a Ram at this time...I'd be driving a Chevy...HUGE difference with Ram now a day's..
I know you won't do this, but try out a BRAND NEW RAM truck, don't base your opinion on older Ram trucks...that's what I did...didn't want one, didn't like the looks of them and they were too loud...but they changed, and so did my bias...just goes to show you, even at 64 yrs of age, one can change opinions:).
Nothing wrong with trading if one can every 2 or 3 years if one wants to or can afford to...you "assumed" too much:)
