Spiders !

I am trying to figure out where spiders are coming into my TC.
It looks like there are air intakes on the unit inside the TC.
Are there no fresh air intakes on these air conditioning units?

Do you think it is possible for any spiders to come in through the air conditioner that is mounted to the ceiling?

Thanks.
  • thanks--wet summer has caused more spider problem in house, tc, shop..everywhere.

I would like to avoid using a chemical solution to the issue.

vinegar and coconut oil. NO spiders, no chems.

If there’s an area of your home that is chronically draped with cobwebs, clean out the webs and spray the area with a mixture made from a cup of white vinegar and a teaspoon of coconut oil.....""

    ""Saline solution.
Salt is a natural type of spider poison, so it makes an effective Portland pest control aide. Dissolve an ounce of salt (1/8 cup) in a gallon of warm water, and pour the saline mixture into a spray bottle. Spray the salty solution directly onto a spider to kill it. Salt water is also effective at killing spider nests.""

  • Go down to the feed store and get you some Tempo made by bayer, Its white milky looking stuff you mix like a table spoon in gallon of water and spray it. Best thing I ever seen, has long residual effect to. It will kill a spider weeks after it dries. Totally destroys fire ant too. Its expensive but it really works great. And does not take much, and is odorless , You will not be disappointed.
  • After spending about three years fighting box elder beetles last year I discovered a sure killer for them without chemicals. Mix some Dawn dish soap and water in a spray bottle. This year, no more beetles on the front of the house.
  • I know not everyone cares for using chemicals, but years ago I discovered Black Flag Spider Killer spray and it seems to be a good deterrent to the little critters making themselves at home. Every couple of months I spray it in corners and around slides and other such entry points.

I'm always more concerned about the spiders than any of the other pests.

We always do the bomb at the start of the season each year just to make sure we nail them that we don't know is there...

  • Like any other bugs they can enter almost any place. Get a bug bomb and use it a couple of times.
