I’m pretty sure the only law he’s actually breaking is he probably hasn’t paid for tonnage over 6000 gross on his registration. If he pays for enough, he can load that thing like that.
It’s pretty stupid and I don’t condone it, but it isn’t actually illegal to haul a big camper on a 1/2 ton.
The only place in the law I can recall saying anything about COG is about tow trucks, which cannot run with less than 33% of their original front end weight while towing. Maybe it was 50%, that was a long time ago, maybe my number is off.
That’s not a tow truck, but maybe that law applies to other trucks too.
