Spray on bed liner

I was looking at spray on bed liners that you spray on. There is a 2 part system Custom Coat on ebay.

Any one use this product?

  • :) Hi, I just had mine done at Line-X for $415.00 but I have a short 5.5' bed and a tailgate with a step so they don't do the tailgate. And I asked for a senior discount. Otherwise it would have been around $500.00 for the job.
  • colliehauler, did you try to cut a deal with any of the pro-installers? Most in my area are more than happy to negotiate, especially when you can show up at the same time they are doing a retail job. My 60" chest toolbox was $80 cash doing this way and my 4'x5'x16" garden dump cart was done for $150. Worth a shot.

I sprayed my brothers bed, bumper and brush guard with the Upol raptor and it worked well. Custom Coat is the same stuff. It will not be as thick and durable as your $500 Line-X.

There is a lot of sanding, cleaning, taping and priming involved so get ready for that. If you skimp on the prep work it will flake off and look like crap.

Have fun, or pay the $500 for a superior product.
Thanks that's what I wanted to know. I have already sanded the bed and primed the bare spots.

Like I said if I found someone in the area to spray it for $300 I would just have it done.

    Hi.

I have a "LINE-x" spray in liner(about 15 yrs now). Unless you really want to accomplish the work your self. Have a pro do it. Think about it.

It's about $500 here vs $149 for the Custom Coat. I do have experience painting cars. I wondered if anyone has used the Custom Coat. If it was only $300 I would just have it done.
