- 4x4ordExplorer IIII was on the Ford build and price site and found it interesting that when I selected an f350 platinum the default vehicle was a dually. When I changed my selection to a SRW short box the price increased by $1510.

They don't even go back that far..
My 2009 dually is a wimp compared to the GM SRW trucks of 2011 and later.- blofgrenExplorer

This one is easy. DRW if you need the carrying capacity because you need it. If you don't, SRW because they're better in every other way.
Except! if a tire blows out towing a trailer...SRW not better :)
If it’s a front tire you are still jacked up
Towing a large fiver, the chances of a rear blow out are MUCH higher than a front.
Another pro for the dually is that you can run a much lower pressure in the rear tires even when towing heavy which contributes to a much better ride. And I love how cool the tires stay. - blofgrenExplorer

I'm not so sure about that with the cost of the large tires on SRW trucks these days. - philhExplorer IIone costs more to put new tires on

- Me_AgainExplorer IIIJust for the record, todays SRW have the capacity of your father's dually, and more of everything over your grandfather's truck, such as exhaust brake, many more gears, nav, XM/Sirus radio, stereo with subwoofer on and on. Chris
