The only swing-down ones I've seen we're like the ones on our 1994 Coleman tent trailer. Pull and swing down, push a lever to drop the telescoping part to the ground and then use a jack handle through holes in the stabilizers to ratchet them tight to the ground... Is that the kind you're referring to? They worked okay for stabilizing such a small trailer. I have to admit that, since it was my first trailer, I probably tried to use them as levelers and ratchet them a little more than I should have, but they were tough. The only time they complained was the first or second time I used that trailer, when the weekend was over, I tried to drive off with them still down. Amazingly, they were still useable after that - TOUGH!!
