- gates59ExplorerI use silicone. Seems to work fine.
- Wishbone51Explorer+1 on white lithium.
- Robby9ExplorerI use white lithium spray. It stays on and doesn't attract dirt.
- wrvondExplorer III learned with my last TT that the threaded part of the jack really isn't the problem. If the scissors part rusts up too much, the force required to extend or retract the jack will break the retaining pin or the bearing housing on the screw shaft. Shoot the joints with a bit of motorcycle chain lube once in a great while. Doesn't take much, and exercise the joint to keep it moving freely.
- Passin_ThruExplorerThe very best is Kroil, buy it online. They make all kinds of oils including the best penetrating oil I've seen and a sticky oil for cables.
- DutchmenSportExplorerI made the mistake on a previous TT to oil them with motor oil (I use that for just about everything) but the screw became too slippery then and never held again. No matter how much I tried to clean it up, wash it down, it would slip. So, I've never oiled or lubed another one again (2 TT's later).
- BmachExplorer III just hose them down, let dry and spray them with a liberal amount of silicon.
