My chevy I used two all the way around. I know that is not what you asked but at first I was like **** I can't get any in that space. You may all ready know when you go to install you need to lift the box up to make space. When I install mine before loading the truck camper I lift the box at the hitch and crank them in. Works great. People talk about keeping them greased and maybe that is a good idea to keep the rust off, but the main thing is to lift the box when engaging them. JMHO
