Sticky manual slide out camping mirrors.

I replaced the stock mirrors on my '02 Silverado a few years ago with aftermarket camping mirrors. They used to slide in and out easily but are now getting stiff and sticky. Has anybody found a lubricant that frees up the slide arms without creating more problems?
