We're in the process of buying our first TT. With 3 kids, we're attracted to rear slide models (roo 23rs, spree 220ks) and smaller bunkhouse models. While I like a lot of these models, it seems that many of them are lacking in storage space for clothes. The Roo only has one narrow wardrobe. Most Jack n Jill bunks models only have one small cabinet above the double bed. The double bed bunks models usually lack any cabinet. I realize that many longer trailers have better storage around the bunk areas, but we're trying to keep it as short as possible since we like to camp in small mountain cgs. So what do people do for clothes storage in these smaller trailers? Thanks!

Have the kids store their clothes at the foot of their bunk bed. The same way we used to do it when we tent camped. WoodGlue

In our last trailer we packed clothes in stacking clear plastic bins. One for each of us. They fit perfectly in the one closet with a hanging rod that we wouldn't have otherwise used. The best side effect was that it was easy to pack in the house and have each person responsible for getting thier bin ready to go.

Saw a picture once where this guy with a very small trailer, where he suspended a sack type (open top, closed three sides) fishing net from the two opposite ends to the wall. This is where he put his folded clothes in.

Good ideas. I'm trying to find a way to keep things neat without resorting to a 30+ footer. We have a pop up currently and I hate how everyone's stuff is always all over the place.

We are a family of 4 in a 15' TT. We use our tow vehicle for alot of our storage. We have a camper top on the truck and can lock it up.

Our good friends just got a rear slide unit, 25 ft, I think. They comnplained about the lack of storage in their rig. We have 3 kids, 1 dog and my wife and I actually have too much storage space in our 30ft bunkhouse. It is nice to have too much space.

I have a 5 and 8 year old boys , more storage means more stuff , more stuff means more to trip over . 30 ft quad bunkhouse , pleanty of storage for stuff we didnt need to bring , no room for the stuff we needed and forgot , but always have a great time camping

I know you said you're trying to keep the size of your TT down. We have a 6yr old and two 4yrs olds. finding a bunkhouse with three or four bunks is hard to do.

The Keystone 291TG seems to hit the mark with some extra's that come in handy when you're "camping". We like to dry camp but don't like to cook bacon of fish in the TT. This rig has outside kitchen and plenty of storage for the kids. - Now if we could only find a bike rack that will hold 5 bikes for the TT we'd be set.

At the time of my post if you haven't found a solution to your problem look at aplace called the container store http://www.containerstore.com/shop/closetbed/bath/beyond or Lowes in the closets sec for ideas they have.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Any closets that you do have, remove the hanging rod and put shelves in instead, we had a 21' hybrid at one time and with this mod you could double or triple the amount of clothing you could fit in the cabinets.

With creativiy you can also find lots of wasted space in small campers that can be converted to storage. Open spaces on the wall where you could add cabinets, under dinette seats that have mechanical equipment in there but still room that could be sectioned off for more storage.

I felt compelled to explain. We will be living the one we purchase for 6 straight months & if you've got kids you will know that just after 1 day your TT can look like it's been lived in for 6 months. We also have 3 youngsters.

We have the Spree 265KS (rear king slide) and there is storage under the front bunk. Depending how long you are staying you can just slide your bags/suitcases under the front bunk. Other options are to just keep them on the beds during the day to keep them out of the way and have easy access and set them aside at night when sleeping. We also have a space on each side of our king slide the we can set our bags. We mostly take long weekends so we don't have a lot of luggage and it's not a problem. Our floor plan is similar to the Outback 250RS and we love it.

We're a family of 5 and had looked at many of the rear slide models, but storage was one of the issues that was a problem (plus the fact that I wanted a front window). I remember one salesman suggested we use the outside storage for clothes - like that was going to happen!

We have the Lance 2185 and find it has really good storage for us. My 2 girls each have a cabinet under the dinette and my son puts his clothes under the sofa. DH and I each use our wardrobe cabinet and under the sofa for storage.
