I build an A frame on my Bigfoot and tarp, no snow gets near the roof and no heat is applied inside, been covered like that for 3 winters. The A frame is built using aluminum saw horse's and a 16' 2x4 and the tarp is tied down with bunchy cord's that keep the tarp tight. very easy to build and cheap. and we can get 2-3 ft of snow.
Hi Johnny G1: This is becoming a very useful string topic for me and have been getting some very worthwhile ideas/responses. I would sure like to see a picture of your a-frame saw-horses or at least some dimensions. I am assuming the saw-horses are placed parallel to the length of the TC in the middle of the roof at both ends with the 16ft 2x4 joining them together? Do you place anything under the feet of the saw-horses on the roof to protect the roof from point load punctures ( I forgot you have a fiberglass roof and are not likely concerned about that)? Does the 2x4 extend out over the ends with the ends of the tarp open or do you fold the tarp closed at the ends? How high off the roof does the saw-horses hold the tarp so it sheds snow? Hope you could supply a picture. cheers
