Storing TT for winter

It won't hurt anything to store out-of-level, especially if your refrigerator is turned off.

You did not say if you were out of level front-to-back, or side-to-side. If front to back, you should be able to block up the tongue jack to make the front higher, or drop the tongue completely to the ground to make it shorter. If it still needs to go shorter, you can block up both wheels, which will raise the camper higher so the tongue can be lowered even more.

If you are unlevel side-to-side, can you block up one side under the wheels to bring it more level? I think the highest I ever had one set of wheels up on blocks higher than the other side was 10 inches at a campground once. It looked scary as can be, but I had really long boards stacked up on top of each other, each one a little shorter than the other so they formed a wedge I could roll up on. But my wife yelled her head off when both tires made it to the top so I wouldn't roll of the back of those boards! When I had it all in place, I chocked everything, put the jacks down really tight. Maybe you could the same.

I really hope I never camp anywhere I have to make up 10 inches. Lol. That's a little steep. I do think I'm going to get some boards for winter, especially since I plan on doing work on the inside and it would be nice to be relatively flat.

LOL - No, I think I'd shy away from that myself! When I had my 2nd TT I poured a concrete pad, and then went ahead and put in a 30A hookup plus water/sewer. It's very handy for me as I can keep a beverage or two in the fridge for when I'm working outside, and before a trip I can hook up everything and check it out prior to leaving. By the way - Congrats on the rig!

Welcome from next door in WV. We often camp near your neck of the woods at Salt Fork and Barkcamp.

We park on the grass - and it sure is muddy now after the Christmas rain.

Used nearly two packs of Lynx Levelers when we parked it before Thanksgiving to go under the axle and the four stabilizers. We always use the levelers at campgrounds and just go an extra "layer" at home to account for any sinking into the ground.

I think it is worth the investment in the levelers - and it didn't hurt that two of the four sets were bought for next to nothing at a yard sale. We also use them to level tables and chairs, and if the site is muddy, they make good stepping stones.

I store mine with the tire's covered and pumped 10 lbs over max and sitting on 2x8's. I also tilt it slightly up in the front to allow rain and snow melt to run off easier even though it has a dome roof.

Caution is a good thing, but I never really thought much about leveling as long as the unit is not being used. I have seen some TT's / 5'ers stored in pretty severe angles in neighbors yards, side slope usually, as parking across the hill is less likely to want to roll during hitch-up / unhooking. Even some RV dealers I see around in my travels have pretty good slopes to their lots and the units all sit on very noticeable angles every which way.

Where I store my TT next to the garage there was a two foot drop in elevation. I brought in fill sand and poured a concrete pad. I put up a carport and 30 amp plug.

The sun destroys tires and graphics on RV's and dries out the sealant. Well worth the investment of a carport.

So if I put covers on the tires, rodents nesting in them over the winter won't be an issue, correct?

Never in all my years of owning and storing have I ever seen any rodent nesting in my tire covers. We've had mice get inside the rv on the odd occasion but never in the tire covers.
