I suppose it depends on what KIND of vent you have - the one on my old 2001 Elkhorn had a plastic tab on both sides to hold it closed - I'd stand on a cooler to reach them.
During just right windy camping conditions, the vent "flap" would do just that - "flap" all night long. Not an issue if your a heavy sleeper or hard of hearing. :)
The dealer that sold it to me said the tabs were an attempt to slow water ingress on the highway during wet conditions.
