So OP could use Electric for heat IF AC Power is available

but the electric switch is missing, so it has me wondering which unit it is also.

most likly it is something gumming up the actual valve not letting it close fully, if you not used to working with this kind of thing just replace the gas valve with a new one.

Electric On/Off switch to left of Oval cover for element (they do not install that w/o it being electric)

OP may even have a 'DEL' model that uses DC for control of Electric & Gas via a Relay


OP must be out camping.......hopefully OP will report back with answers/resolution IE: Gas Valve fixed
