I'd suggest going blue. This way you won't feel them engage when you are unloaded. I have black ones on my van, and even well beyond their rated levellng-capacity, they still function as an effective jounce stop. I'd only put black ones on an F150 if the truck were built out with a full-time heavy load (heavy toolbox, slideout tray etc).
