Superchip Flashpaq tuner for Ford F350?
I have a 2000 Ford F350 with the 7.3L TD and a 6 speed manual transmission. I have heard that the Superchip Flashpaq tuner will boost my horsepower by something like 100 HP by reprogramming the chips...

They tuner makers all claim mpg increases, but THAT part in my experience, is bogus. Lower tunes add power and don't decrease mpg measurably, but the high output tunes do decrease mpg. That's my experience anyway.
Where the increased mpg claims come from is the customers. If you read the ads closely, you'll see they almost always phrase the claims like: "Our customers report a 2-6 mpg increase!!" Of course they do. #1, they WANT to believe this to be true, and #2, one of the "side effects" of the tuning process is that it fools the in cab mpg display into reporting an artificially increased mpg. Not their main function, but a consequence of the tuning fooling the engine control computer into making more power.
These people are just fooled because they never actually check the mpg by working it out manually. My 2007 Cummins reported 27+ mpg regularly, but I was actually getting low 20s (20 - 22).
