Question for the engineer types. If. The rear bumper lowers 2 inches or so when the fifth wheel landing gears are retracted, then air bags are installed and inflated sufficient to raise the rear bum...

If we are talking 5th wheels...the hitch pin should be at least centered over the rear axle if not an inch or more ahead of the axle. So loading should add weight ( even if minimally) to the front axle as well as the rear regardless of front vs rear appearance.
