When I did the axle upgrade to my TT this year, I finally looked over all of the suspension parts...
With about 50K on the TT, the supension appeard to be working as it should.... Upon disassembly though, some problems were developing. About half of the plastic bushings were worn to the point that damage to the metal parts was occuring. The shackle holes were slightly elongnated. The Trail Air Equaflex equalizer had deteriorating rubber, and the center hole bronze bushing was worn thru and wearing into the metal.
So all new upgraded parts were installed. The next size up Equalflex, and Never Fail bushings.
But here is the thing... The TT never showed any outward signs that things were amiss. I have no idea how much longer it would have lasted until these issues were noticeable without taking it apart.
And according to many here, the plastic bushings won't last anywhere near as long as I ran them.
As i have testified here before,,, I tow heavy fast and often, and there ids just about always some rough dirt roads on my trips.. Factors which sbould wear things out faster... Perhaps the factory stuff isn't as bad as some make it out to be.
As I have
