Suspension

Hi guys, Im planning to replace the leaf springs on my 2000 TT I think they are wear out already. TT only weights 3000 lbs and it has the 2800 lbs double axle, Im thinking to get the 3500 lbs springs. My question is what are some good brands leaf spring?
Are the ones from Etrailer/Amazon good quality? cause I have read on some other post that the China spring break too easy. I really appreciate your help.
Thank you.
  • Hi Rob thank you for respond, yes the TT is only 3000lbs dry weight but I know at least 500 or more by the time I load the propane tanks, one battery, generator some times, bikes, all the food and personal stuff specialty going camping to the mountains. the springs I have found on Etrailer/Amazon are for less and the next one are the 3500lbs. thats why I was thinking on using those plus was hopping they be little higher than the ones I have cause right now top of tire and trailer fender seem too close, only about 2-1/2" clearance and I like to see more clearance.
    Thank you
  • Does your TT really weigh 3,000 lbs. per the scales or is that the dry weight per the manufacturer? I suspect the latter if the axles are 2,800 lbs. X2. If you "over spring" the suspension, you will beat the trailer to death because the springs won't "give." I would replace the springs with springs rated for the same load but better quality spring steel.
