...Well, maybe not down the Teton Pass, but what would?
A 1-ton diesel with engine breaking. I did Teton Pass 2 years ago towing a 8700 lbs TT with a family of 4, bikes/kayaks loaded in/on the truck and was completely fine.
But, I do understand that not everyone can have a 1-ton.
A 1-ton with engine breaking would've been nice. But I had 7 passengers at the time. The tranny and brakes did get a bit hot on those downhill 25mph curves. But it was my first time and didn't know what to expect. Stopped for gas at the bottom and everything cooled down to normal before I finished filling up. I even commented to my passengers what a good job the truck did, and how everyone was lucky to be alive. Got a chuckle from the kids.
Yup, I could not have had 7 passengers legally so would've had to leave someone behind ;) Good to hear you made it down safely as that is an interesting pass to navigate.
