With a family of 5 (and all their associated "stuff") using a trailer this big I betcha it's GVW loaded & ready to camp could easily land close to 9000 lbs, which in turn means that a decent gross tongue weight ratio of 13% to 14% will result in a gross tongue weight that could easily hit 1200 lbs. Add the weight of that family plus any gear in the truck and this is at least 3/4 ton territory in order for that vehicle to offer sufficient payload capacity.
