A way to verify this is to hook up opposite sides first.
Hook up the passenger side first. Is the driver side tight?
Then hook up the driver side first. Is the passenger side tight?
If the answer is yes to both, then the twist is likely correct.
If the answer is only yes to one, then it is likely something else - ground slightly uneven, trailer heavy on one side, etc.
Make sense?
EDIT: Try putting the 4X4 under the jack to get more height. That should work.
