Having a brake controller in a convenient location is very important. I mounted my brake controller on my 2000 F-350 in a little storage space on the face of the dash just right of the steering wheel. I wrapped foam (armaflex)around the brake controller and then put electrical tape around the foam. I then put some water with dish soap on the tape so that the brake controller could be inserted into the dash storage space. It is the perfect location for accessing the brake controller. Today, most trucks with the trailer towing package come with the controller, but the one I set up is still in a great location to activate, especially for right handed people.
