They had to reset his bone today...ouch.

Sadly my son broke his arm so I installed the brackets and that was it.

The 1500 wasnt fine..The truck was bottom out and making odd noises so I pulled it off..no pictures. Idiot!

So I pulled the tailgate off and backed in as much as I could. (6") Dropped it until the front came off the ground and went to work quickly. 5 minutes on the first jack and 1 minute on the second. Helps to install them right side up.

Going to clean up the bolts and apply a coat of white paint to them to make it look better. Wont touch the shaft though, will keep that stock looking.

I think the 1500 would be fine with the back supported with the other jacks. Take off the tailgate first if you decide to do that.

I would have no problem putting a half ton under the front of it. It will handle that weight easily for just supporting the front.

I should have thought of this before getting the new truck. I have no friends with HD trucks...I think the jack stands is the ticket with a piece of 3x8 lumber between them. Ill do one side at a time..

What you describe, just backing under enough to support, will work. Alot safer than single jack. Though suppose you could do one side at a time using a block to spread load on bottom. Id opt for backing under (throw your keys on the roof)...

I'd get a friend to pull under it for a few minutes. Barring that, just make sure enough of the front is supported. Lance should have some ideas.

Other than that, one of my jacks tends to lower faster from time to time so my camper is supported by 3 only. You could probably support one side at a time to make this simpler.
