I switched my truck oil to Napa Syn 20W-50 about two years ago and there's a noticeable change in the mileage and less wear/tear. I do 48000mi full changes with three 16000mi Stratapore oil filter changes in between. I've sent samples to Blackstone and it hasn't comeback with anything that would cause me to change sooner.
In previous years I used smelly ole Rotella-T - but no longer - the changes were more frequent and cost us more in the long run. Everytime I pulled into a truck stop for a change it was another hundred bucks. A fuel filter change added $80 to the bill.
Now I buy all my filters online, since they stopped building my engine a while ago - I won't change trucks/engines anytime soon. Oh yeah I now get 7.5mpg on an engine that has more than 700000mi on it with one o/h.
