Tail light temporary fix needed

Hi guys,

I am looking for a 'bush fix' for one of our trail tail lights. One of the tabs broke and glass will no longer stay on with just one tab, obviously. I have access to hardware store at the moment, but not a whole new assembly. Could I use some silicone or something. Ideas? Thx.

  • Thanks for your feedback, I think I will go with the Gorilla tape for now. I am thinking about replacing both tail lights with LED, any suggestions on suitable replacement.
  • Do you still have the little tab ??? I had the same problem and was able to use super glue to stick the tab back in place. It now holds the taillight just fine.

I'm a little worried about the next time I have to remove it but, for now it is OK.
  • Get a 2" #6 (or 8) sheet metal screw. Drill a small hole though the light cover and the reflective shield. Put a little silicone underneath the head of the screw and screw it down.
  • Gorilla Tape. The residue will be much easier to remove than any sealant.
