Take along Ladder?

Anyone find the need for a take along with you ladder?

I will be putting solar panels on the roof of my Hybrid and want to be able to have access to them anytime.

I am thinking about getting one of those telescoping ladders. Has anyone had experience with them?

  • Can't visualize a safe way to carry an extension ladder on a HTT....no permanent ladder to attach it to. Bumper won't work. Doubt that attaching to the latches would work. If you haven't checked online such as Ebay or Amazon for that nifty ladder, suggest you check there for a price. Good luck.
  • I just use my tailgate or truck bumper. Not ideal but I don't want to carry more stuff.
  • I bought a 7 foot folding, double sided step ladder from Camping World. It folds shut to about 4 inches square and opens up to a 7 foot double sided step ladder. It is very sturdy when opened. Easy to set up and locks open when set up. I store it in the front storage compartment which goes across the camper. It takes up very little space.
  • Yeah, we take a small step stool/ladder, maybe 3'. Make sure the feet are large enough, or you have something to place on the ground, to keep the legs from sinking on muddy sites.
