Thanks everyone for the input. I guess I will be taking a trip to the scales to see what my tongue weight truly is. My experience is telling me that is not the root of my problem, but I better know for sure before making any further changes.
The honest answer is I don't know if the TT swayed before flipping the axles. I bought it used in November and towed it home. It bottomed out HARD trying to back into the driveway and after some research I decided flipping the axles would be a great winter project to complete one Saturday in my shop at work. So, unfortunately I never actually towed it anywhere before flipping the axles (shame on me). I feel confident I aligned everything and measured meticulously as I went. Again, my experience is telling me it isn't likely this either. The TT will tow great on an open road in ideal conditions. So it's not as if it's just swaying and bobbing on it's own. The problem is the pull of passing trucks and any wind. I know there is supposed to be some movement that requires some correction, but this feels extreme to me. It is downright scary at times. At this point we've had the camper out on 4 trips, none of which were more than a 3 hour drive, and none of which were in particularly bad driving conditions (a little rain once, some light winds, pretty standard). All of them were exhausting. I can't imagine what 6 or 7 hours will feel like, let alone a storm. It is frustrating for me to feel so uncomfortable with it. Like I said, I drive large trucks and trailers for work. This shouldn't be a problem for me, but yet here I am, white knuckling down the road on a 1.5 hour little weekend getaway!
The trailer is pushing me around. My WD hitch was a freebie thrown in with the purchase of the trailer. It is used and has the chains at the ends of the bars that attach to the tongue. I did purchase a new drop shaft to get my rig towing level. I also have a used friction sway bar that seems to have a decent amount of slop in it. I probably need a new one of those, but knowing my truck set up, it seems like a sway bar should only be an extra band aide, not a solution to something this exaggerated.
Or did you weld new spring perches on top of the axles and simply reposition them under the springs?
