Had a 1968 Mustang fastback with a Hy-Po 390/4 speed and one had to remove the cross bar and front engine mounts to jack up the engine to change plugs. Base garage advertised a $39.00 tune up. Went for it and when finished, manager told me NOT to ever bring it back. LOL. Six hours for a tune-up. Still ran like a scalded dog. My 1969 427 Camaro was a simple deal to tune except for the weekly valve adjustment to street race Saturday nite. Had 4.56 rear gears and a M22 "rock crusher" four speed. Those were the days. $50.00 a shot and run what you brung.
