The black pipe that drains the gray tank has a small hole in it. Is regular PVC okay to use to make the repair?

The glue for gluing ABS to PVC is called "transition" cement.
It's hard to tell without a photo but if the hole isn't too large, I would try an ABS coupling. Cut it in half lengthwise and sand down the ridge inside. Then just glue it over the hole (ABS glue). The pipe will be standard 2" or 1 1/2" ABS.
