Yes, COG is important.
The biggest reason that trucks/trailers get flagged at weigh stations isn't over loads... it that the legel weights are distributed properly.
The way station scales weigh each axel to determine distibrution.
The TC COG is determined ( and marked on some TC's) for you on TCs... the campers design is largely determined by the weight of each compomnet. Then tanks are placed and sized for balance.
It is all about safety and mitigating liability for the TC manufacturer... making you responsible for loading the TC correctly.
If you ignor the predetermined COG and any documents that came with the camper your insurance company might turn down a claim if you are in an accident... or you might get cited if the investigators catch it.
Of course... I just made all of this up... didn't I?
