I think it looks great. Yuh dun Good!!
Our truck squats about 3 1/2" with the camper loaded and ready to go but being a 1 ton it's lifted 2" higher in back to start with.
I use a 2x plus a section of 3/4 inch pvc never rot trim to space ours back about 3 1/2".
It clears the tail lights by less than an inch.
We have a 1/4 thick foam piece on the camper where the lights might touch.
I find that the spacing you have above the rails gives me enough room to place things beside the camper for storage. I keep hoses, extensions a tool box, blocks and more under there.
We flat tow a stock YJ behind ours and it works great. I share your concerns about possible trouble and not being aware of it so we are looking into a camera for when we tow the jeep and also for the horses.
