My truck is srock and only has a 7-pin connector by the hitch. The dealers all want to install a connector in the bed for convenience, but it seems like that might get in the way for non-TC use. I have a buddy who had the connector installed under the bed in the gap between the bed and cab. The dealer I talked to the other day said that's ok, but is a pain when it's raining and muddy.Where do yall install the plug? Pictures? Opinions after use?

Side of the bed is fine. Mine (on both trucks I've had for TC) is about half the way from fender to front and half from floor of bed to top.

Mine's in the back, but my umbilical comes out of my camper at the back.

As long as the plug is installed up on the inner side wall of the bed, it won't get in the way of other uses of the truck bed.

Mine is between the wheel well and the tailgat frame. Pro ... Easy to reachCon....guess there isn't anyIt has never been an issue when carrying stuff. Caveat: don't get too close to the wheel well oryou may drill into the inner wheel well liner.

Mine is inside the box, drivers side, just under the bed rail. It actually lines up above the gas fill on the outside. Never had an issue. Just back under the camper and stop about a foot short of fully loaded. Reach over plug in. Finish loading.

It won't get in the way. I haul gravel, topsoil, trash and all the stuff for which pickups are used. Just broom off the plug cover when finished. Hose out the bed when needed.

Mine is in front of the wheel about 1/2 way up. I access it from inside the truck camper on one of the four wheel wheel access doors.

Same 7 pin plug
The one in the bed lets me use the tail gate with everything in the bed
when the fifth wheel is hooked up.

So how do you access the plug if the TC is in already? Do you lift it more so you can reach? I'm envisioning your arm under the end hoping the jack holds. My TC will have an overhang. Is yours an 8' without rear valence?

I don't plug in until the camper is loaded to prevent the wires from getting pinched.

Same with my fifth wheel. It's an easy place to access.
