Yeah, I hear you guys. The aggravation of hauling the panels around and having to string wire and set them up are the reasons I never really considered them.
Does anyone have experience with this inverter: Morningstar 300W pure sine wave inverter. I'm thinking about it with 2 or 3 100W panels and a C35 Xantrex controller with LCD display and breakers. This may be overkill now as I only have two 6 volt Trojans but I thought in case of upgrading later it may be wise to spend a little more now. What do you think?
Have you done a Power Demand survey to determine what your daily AmpH needs are going to be? Different season/s survey?
What are you anticipated uses to be powered by an inverter? (Depending on what you are powering, a less expensive Mod Sine Wave Inverter works)
What seasons are you planning on using your TC in?
Are you planning on staying in location for 3 or 4 days? (If not, consider reviewing your convertor type and charging technique.)
You have a great start with the batteries stated.
What landscape is available on the roof of your TC? (BigFootford always recommends using cardboard cut to the size of the solar panels anticipated to determine what you can use. Smaller panels tend to work better on TCs)
Are you planning for what you need now, or for an opportunity to expand?
Just remember, Solar can be expensive to go with, as there are much cheaper alternatives available. But, most have a checkbook bigger than mine, if so, go for it. I would never go without Solar! But I am a bit different. :B
