If you have an I-pad there is an app for that. We use it all the time.

You can also Google the town you want to stay near. Click on Accomodations. Cgs are usually there.

Google your state you live in with campgrounds in the question. Tons of info on the net.

It depends on what type of camping you intend on doing. State parks, NFS sites, BLM, NPS sites, private CG's/Resorts?

I use the maps on Allstays to locate campgrounds in the area we want to visit. If possible, I look for pictures of the specific sites on Campsitephotos which has spotty coverage but it's great when our spot is covered. I'm a bit luke-warm on this next one, but there are some reviews on RV Park Reviews. I also scout out photos of the area using the Photos option of Google maps.
