Tekonsha controllers, which one?

The Tekonsha sounds like the way to go, now which one, the Primus, P2 or P3? I can see that some have the advantage of electric over hydraulic, which I don't need, and some have up to 4 axle and some mount up to 360*, I only need about 30* at most and I have a 2 axle 29' trailer at a little under 9000lbs. Which one then for my use? I've tried to do some research but really can't see what the big difference is with them.

Thanks
Keith

  • My P2 is 9 years old. It's been flawless. If I was buying a new one it would be a P3.
  • I went withe the P2 mainly because the P3 just seemed like extra features I didn't need - multiple trailer memory and such - not worth the extra 25 bucks, to me.
I only have one TT, so I set the P2 one time and never touched it again.
  • Been a year since I upgraded a 9 year old Voyager to the P3. I think there is more information on the display of the P3 which is really the only difference for $20.00 more than the P2. Randu
  • I have the P2 and really like it. Very user friendly and functions flawlessly.
  • I have the P2 and it works flawlessly. I'm sure any of them would be the same.
  • All are very good.

But I went with the P3 and really like it.
  • All three of the controllers you mentioned are proportional controllers. and, probably, electronically similar. The P2 has more functionality with different ranges of boost and the P3 has more bells and whistles. I use the P2 and think it's a great controller.
