About twice a year you are to remove the plastic plug that is on top where the antenna mechanism is on the roof ( by the way all this is in the maint. section of the book that comes with the antenna) and spray some silicone in it this lubricates the " O " ring and mechanism never use WD-40 the plastic plug may also be cracked the are a couple of dollars I put teflon tape on the threads of the plug on mine but I guess it may bot be needed if you have misplaced the book that comes with the antenna you can go to winegard dot com all the info on preventive maintenance will be on line
