I used to use these spring wing thingies to mount things to thin walls but the problem here is if you ever unscrew it for whatever reason the spring wing nut drops down behind the wall...



Then they came out with the MOLLY BOLTs. and these are great for this application... With the molly bolt you drill a smal hole to slip this in place and then when you tighten down on the screw it spreads out behind the wall. Then you can remove the screw if you like and it stays in place... Doesn't drop down behind the wall like the spring wing bolt did...
